• Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (SGLI)

  Low-cost term life insurance for servicemembers and reservists. Coverage of up to $400,000 begins when you enter service. Generally, it expires 120 days after you leave service.

• Veterans Group Life Insurance (VGLI)

  Renewable term life insurance for veterans who want to convert their SGLI up to an amount not to exceed the coverage they had when they separated from service. Must apply within one year from separation from service.
  

• Traumatic Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (TSGLI)

  Automatically included in SGLI and provides for payment up to $100,000 for servicemembers who lose limbs or have other serious injuries
  

• Service-Disabled Veterans Insurance (S-DVI, also called RH)

  Available in a variety of permanent plans as well as term insurance. Coverage is $10,000. Veterans may be eligible for a $20,000 supplemental policy if they are 100% disabled. You must apply within two years of the VA rating you with a service-connected disability.
