The Crawfish had so much material by Thursday that he decided to split his normal Saturday column into two parts and put them out on Friday and Sunday.

My opening story has 2 parts, the original outrage and the updated follow-up, so make sure to read it all.

The Obama Administration is now going against the sacred trust placed in our government by our military personnel and veterans. One of the benefits we are promised in exchange for our service is medical care for all service-related conditions, for life! Now The Chosen One wants private insurers to pay the VA for our care, thereby raising OUR rates and in effect making us pay for our service-related medical problems (rates go up when claims are made against a policy, and most policies have lifetime $$ caps, which can easily be exceeded by long term care for service related disabilities). The Commander of the American Legion has come out publicly against these plans, and I’m sure all of the other veterans groups will as well. The HATRED of the Democratic Party against our military and our veterans is no longer just under the surface. It is in the open! Maybe the veterans groups will now join forces with the Tea Party movement!
UPDATE: The outrage of the American people and the veteran service organizations worked! The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America is reporting that the President is NOT going to send this plan through, and Fox News has the official statement from the White House.

There are some things that would make The Crawfish freak out and run away. This is one of them.

The people of America do not understand the basics of the Constitution, and they want too much from the government. That’s what one of the best SCOTUS Justices ever has to say. He also criticized judges (and Justices) who rule by their own opinions, and not the intent of the people who actually WROTE the Constitution. God Bless Clarence Thomas!

On the subject of anti-Constitutionality, the Democrats are pushing a bill that would force MANDATORY community service with left-wing indoctrination upon the youth of America and frighteningly harkens back to something Obama said on the campaign trail, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.” Every dictator in history has had a mandatory indoctrination program for the youth that became militaristic. Is this going to be the Obama version of the S.A. or will it be the Obama Youth?

Now The Crawfish ain’t all that careful about what he says in his columns sometimes, but the top municipal judge in my original hometown has just stepped in it in a column he wrote. Oops!

I’m not saying that a Democrat would be a two-faced hypocrite, but…okay, maybe I am saying that. Senator Chris “Countrywide Loans” Dodd is calling for the taxation of the AIG loans, because he finds them soooo offensive, but the “stimulus” bill has an amendment in it, called the Dodd Amendment, that specifically allows those bonuses. Since 2000, Dodd has gotten over twice the amount of campaign donations of anyone else from AIG…over $225,000.00. Oh, and he didn’t know he was getting a good deal from Countrywide, either.

Senator Dodd really blew it this time. First he claims that the so-called Dodd Amendment was put into the “stimulus” bill in the House-Senate conference committee by someone other than him, then he comes clean and admits that he did it himself…but blames the Obama Administration. These folks are falling apart at the seams! Dodd, who won his past two elections by two-to-one margins, is now running about dead-even with his Republican challenger in the 2010 Senate race in the heavily Democratic state of Connecticut.

The House responded to the bonus outrage by passing a bill to tax those bonuses at a 90% clip. Now, they know that this tax will never stand up in court, especially since legislation specifically authorized the bonuses, so why did they pass this bill? They did it purely to help Democrat incumbents in the 2010 election. These Congresscritters can go back to their districts and say, “See! I voted to stick it to those eeeeevillll executives and their bonuses!” Meanwhile, the folks who are bankrupting a NATION instead of just a business aren’t giving back their Congressional raises, are they?

Of course, all of the attention being given to the AIG bonuses is just a smokescreen. The real problem isn’t that measly $165 million. Why isn’t anyone saying anything about the $58,000,000,000.00 that went from the taxpayers to FOREIGN banks, via AIG and completely sanctioned by the Federal Reserve (under the direction of Tax Cheat Geithner back then). Nice little money laundering scheme.

Did y’all notice that the folks who helped collapse the credit market, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are about to make multiple million dollar bonus payments as well? Remember, Friend Of Obama Franklin Raines made $90,000,000.00 in six years while running one of them and cooking the books, and Bawney Fwank was having a heterophobic affair with one of Freddie Mac’s head honchos (but I thought he preferred Fannies! –ed.). Will either of them speak up on this. Yeah, right.

The number one reason that the credit market collapsed, leading to the downfall of the rest of the economy, was the Community Reinvestment Act, which forced banks to give loans to people who had no business getting loans. The credit unions in America are still somewhat healthy these days, because the CRA didn’t apply to them. Well, since the CRA did such a wonderful job of wrecking the regular banks, the Democrats want to expand the CRA to include the credit unions!

WOW! The State of Missouri thinks The Crawfish and others like him who supported Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, or Ron Paul, or those who support the Constitution of the United States are “militia influenced terrorists” and need to be watched. Islam: perfectly okay. Constitution: terroristic.

Washington’s governor has a new idea on how to make up part of the budget shortfall in the state colleges and universities. No, she’s not going to lower the pay of the overpaid professors who teach 2 classes per week (actually, they have their grad assistants do most of their work) and work on their book projects. Instead, she’s going to put a SURCHARGE on the students! Tip of the hat to blogger Dawndawn from Townhall.

President Obama screwed up on St. Pat’s Day, as if that day isn’t like every other day so far in his reign. The First African-American President, who basically renounced every bit of his white ancestry for political purposes, claimed Irish ancestry while hosting the Irish Prime Minister. On top of that, his electronic brain malfunctioned during the speeches.

Queen of the House Red Nanny P-Lousy stepped in it again. She had a meeting with a group of immigrants, many of them illegals. She told the group that enforcing our nation’s immigration laws is “un-American.” Is there anybody out there who still doesn’t believe that the goal of the Democrats is to get all of the illegals made legal and register them as Democrat voters?

If your nation’s economy is sucking, and it makes you mad, do you really think that a nationwide STRIKE is going to improve the situation? The socialist union stooges of France evidently think so.

Secretary of Commerce nominee Gary Locke has had some shady dealings with Chinese companies that might cause him to resign or see his nomination torpedoed. Is there a single ethical Democrat out there to take a Cabinet job???
