What a week we’ve had. The Crawfish was so busy that I didn’t even go look for stories (one did kinda fall into my lap, but…) about the Religion of Perpetual Hatred and the Followers of the False and Pedophiliac Prophet so I could annoy CAIR again.

Here we go again with The Crawfish’s biggest pet peeve in the realm of Constitutional law. Another federal judge has proven that he has never read the Constitution by ruling that a California high school teacher’s teaching style violated the First Amendment because it “favors irreligion over religion.” What part of “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” is violated by ANYTHING a local teacher does? Is he CONGRESS making a LAW? No, so the First Amendment’s religion section DOES NOT APPLY! (but the Ninth and Tenth do!)

Of course, Congressional Democrats are trying to overturn the First Amendment anyway, by making almost any kind of non-nice electronic speech punishable by up to two years in federal prison…or would gulag be a better term? The PC Police are coming, and if they read my column archives, I’m on my way to the big house. Hat tip to Townhall commenter Beachmom.

The Golden DUH! Award for this week goes to…drum roll please…The Obama Administration, for refusing to release the photographs from the Noo Yawk City Panic Photo Fly By last week to the public. The whole thing was done for publicity photos, but now those publicity photos are being kept under lock and key?

As if the 5-5 Edition’s story about the teacher who hated non-liberal news wasn’t enough to make you pull your hair out, we’ve got another teachers’ union story for y’all. How would you like to make $68,000.00 per year, plus benefits for SEVEN YEARS while doing not a single bit of work? In a non-union world, the first example in that story would simply have been…FIRED, but we all know that it is impossible to fire a union teacher unless they are convicted of a combination of at least 3 rapes and/or murders.

The Administration is now using blackmail tactics against Governor Ah-nahld and the State of Californication. Why? The state, which could be completely broke by July, had the unmitigated gall to drop its payments for some UNION workers by $2.00 per hour. The Chosen One will not allow anything that goes against the desires of America’s union goons, even if he has to break laws and threaten blackmail.

It gets even better for the union thugs. One of the few non-defense cuts in Obama’s budget proposal is a cut in the part of the Department of Labor that…wait for it…regulates unions!

While we’re discussing The Golden Child’s budget “cuts”, there’s this report showing that He actually TOLD the press to report his miniscule cuts as “significant” even though they are less than 2% of the size of his “stimulus” bill, which added to the deficit in a large way, and less than ½ of 1% of the $3,400,000,000,000.00 overall budget. How do you like THAT arrogance? Who does He think He is, telling the press how to report items?

Here’s more good news for those of us who want the world’s only EX-Marine, John “ABSCAM” Murtha, to be sent to a prison cell. He has a nephew who owns a company that exists solely on lucrative Defense Department contracts that had no other bidders, while there appears to never be any actual activity at the company. This is the kind of fraud that usually sends people to long-term residence in the federal prison system, but since Queen of the House Red Nanny P-Lousy is telling the Justice Department to quit investigating elected Democrats (see the 5-5-09 edition of The Weekly Claw), I’m sure that charges will never be filed. Yep, that swamp of corruption that Red Nanny pledged to drain when she became Queen of the House seems to get deeper by the day instead of getting drained. If this was a Republican lawmaker, he’d already be under pressure from the GOP to resign his seat and would be facing the charges in open court.

Under our Constitution, this should never be the case.

Do you believe in not giving drivers licenses to non-drybacks? Congratulations! You fit in the new definition of a domestic extremist according to Homeland Security Ditz Napolitano. Note that the report calls out all sorts of groups, but they still REFUSE to admit that muslims are extremists. I guess a possible nominee to the Supreme Court can’t have her Department calling out the real religion of her boss. Meanwhile, over 90% of the terrorism around the world in the past 2 decades has been perpetrated by muslims, but they really aren’t a threat to anyone are they?

The Crawfish hasn’t published a Top Ten list in a while, so here for your reading pleasure is the Top Ten Reasons Obamanomics Won’t Work. Let’s hear some liberals try to refute these.

Wow! The Senate is trying to pass another “hate crimes” bill. This one protects all 547 types of sexual deviancy listed by the American Psychiatric Association. Well, that means a large part of the core Democrat demographic, as well as much of the Kennedy family, is officially a “protected” class.

The Democrat leadership in the House must have noticed that polling data shows more Americans now believe that man’s activities have nothing to do with climate change than believe The Prophet Algoracle. Yep, the sheeple are awakening to the actual SCIENTIFIC data that shows a lack of global warming ever since sunspot activity died down (well, that and that during the real warming years the temps on Mars also rose and there ain’t any SUVs and coal fired power plants up there). So how can they get their big government/big tax/big state control of industry plans implemented? Nostrildomis, aka Rep. Henry Waxman of Californication, is ramming the legislation through by bypassing the normal steps. Yep, when Democrats can’t win, they break/change the rules.

And it ain’t just Democrats in DC that break the rules to get their way. In Washington state, the Democrat-controlled state legislature cannot raise taxes unless they have a 2/3 majority vote, so they have taken $60,000,000.00 from the state liquor control board to balance the budget, forcing the board to raise liquor prices to make up the shortfall. That is an indirect way of raising liquor taxes by $1.05 per liter. Of course, The Crawfish has a problem with a state agency setting the prices for liquor sales and/or running all liquor sales in the first place. I currently reside in the COMMONWEALTH (they admit right up front that they are socialists) of Pennsylvania, where all liquor and wine must be purchased at STATE STORES, just like all goods were in the Soviet Union. Get the government OUT of private business!

It looks like $lick Willie and Silky Pony…heck most of the core Democrat demographic, should avoid going to Iran anytime soon. For those who don’t know what “apostasy” is, muslims give an automatic death sentence to anyone who leaves the religion of Islam. Since they have not declared that sentence on Barack Obama, even though he was born muslim (if the father is muslim, by Sharia Law the child is considered muslim), that means that they still believe him to be one, so he might still be safe over there. Looks like Islam is about as tolerant as American Democrats.

Now this is ridiculous. Talk show host Michael Savage has been banned from travel to the UK because of his extremist views. This comes from a nation that is overrun by some of the most extreme muslim radicals in the world, and does nothing about them preaching jihad in their mosques and implementing Sharia Law in some towns.

Proving once again that he was never really a Republican, General Colin Powell stated that the GOP needs to move back towards the center and stop listening to the far right. He also said that Americans want to pay more taxes and have more government in their lives. Uh, General, moving the party towards the center means moving it to the RIGHT, not the left, and as far as the people wanting more government in their lives, well…until the Constitution is completely rewritten, that is not legal. Even the amount of government in our lives NOW isn’t legal according to the Constitution.

As a matter of fact, a recent Gallop Poll shows that Americans want LESS government, at least in the area of gun control.

General Powell’s comments were bad enough, but the new standard-bearer of the Bush family is now proving that the Bush’s have never been conservatives either. Jeb Bush is on the new “listening” tour (a bunch of “moderate” Republicans talking to specifically picked “moderate” audiences who will approve of their “moderateness”), and said that the GOP needs to leave the legacy of Ronald Reagan behind. In other words, conservatives need to get out and start their own party, because the Bush legacy of “compassionate conservatism” (aka big government liberalism with a pseudo-Republican face) is true Republicanism. They really do want to become a 20% party.

While The Crawfish agrees with this mayor in the short term the real solution would be to have all of the signs be in ENGLISH ONLY! This is the United States of America, not the Banana Republic of Mexico. If the mezzicans don’t like it, they are free to cross the border heading south.

I didn’t know how far over the edge the nanny welfare state had gotten in Taxachusetts had gone until I read this article about one of the benefits that the unemployed there get. Astounding.

How is it that a group that makes up about 2% of the population can be such a major force in driving the Democratic Party’s agenda?

Another grossly overpaid whiner of an athlete with Hall of Fame statistics see’s his career, and a large chunk of cash, go into the toilet because he’s a cheating steroid user. This punk, who is more obsessed with his long girlie hair than he is with being an adequate outfielder, was sooooo upset when nobody offered him more than $22,500,000.00 per year to stand around and scratch himself, will now lose over $7,700,000.00 because of his 50 game suspension. Hopefully, the Dodgers will immediately ditch him and the rest of that contract and the rest of the teams will do to him what they’ve done to Barry “MISTER STEROID” Bonds for the past two years. Of course, his UNION will fight to protect the poor, misunderstood, and underpaid baby.  The Crawfish still wonders a) what do multimillionaires need a union for, and b) what position did Donald Fehr play?  If Fehr is the head of the union, he must be eligible to be a member, and to be a member you must be a current or former player in the Major Leagues.  Fehr never played the game, so how is he the head of the union?

We’ll end this edition with a doozie of a statement from former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard “YEEARRRRRRRRGH!” Dean, who actually had the stooopidity to admit his marxist-socialism with this statement: “I think we had quite enough capitalism in the past eight years.” Folks, they’re not even trying to hide it anymore.
