The Weekend Claw 8-14-09

We’ll start this edition of The Weekend Claw by paying our respects to a man who literally changed American culture, and with it the culture of much of the world. Les Paul was the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar, and he developed many of the sound recording techniques that made rock and roll possible. While he has died at age 94, his legacy will live forever in music, and in the iconic guitar of rock and roll, the Gibson Les Paul.

The Crawfish has repeatedly said that if a liberal does something praiseworthy, I will give the proper credit. Well, President Obama has issued new guidelines for federal agencies and how they hire military spouses. Not only is this the right thing to do, but it could benefit The Crawfish directly, as I am a military spouse and will be looking for a job next year!

There is also some good news from the state of Taxachusetts!

Now THIS is some scary news. The jihadists have actually attacked Pakistan’s nuclear weapons facilities three times in the past two years. Considering how they have infiltrated much of the government and some of the armed forces, might it be getting close to a situation in which their nukes would have to be removed from the area?

We all knew it would be the case, but the White House’s new website designed to “debunk the myths” surrounding Obamacare is nothing but propaganda, spin, and lies. On the very first day that it was up and running it stated numerous places that Obamacare would not add a single dime to the deficit, despite the CBO analysis showing that every version of the plan would add hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars to the deficit. “Tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.” Was that quote from Joseph Goebbels or someone in the Obama Administration?

The e-mail from Obamadvisor David Axelrod announcing the Official White House Obamacare Spin and Lies website, which they call “Reality Check” (uh, isn’t that one of the regular features on Bill O’Reilly’s TV show? Copyright infringement?), went out to a large number of Americans, including The Claw’s newshound “beachmom”, who have never signed up for any e-mail updates from the White House or any of the Oborganizations. Word of this got to Major Garrett of Fox News. He tried to question His Arrogance (aka Press Secretary Gibbs) on how those folks’ e-mail accounts got on a White House list. Gibbs danced around and didn’t give him an answer, as expected. The Crawfish is wondering if those e-mail accounts were sent in to the Official White House Stasi/Gestapo Snitch Line. I’ll have to check all of my screening accounts to see if I got something from Axelrod. If not, then I’m gonna be miffed that nobody snitched on ME!

Many of the “myths” are actually made up of legalese and smoke & mirrors written right in to the bill itself. Where else but in a bill written by liberal lawyers and con artists (but I repeat myself) can you find a statement such as, “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax imposed by this chapter.” It even follows that whopper up by saying, “for purposes of determining the amount of any credit under this chapter or for purposes of Section 55.” The problem with that is that there IS NO SECTION 55 in the bill, since it STARTS with Section 101. So there it is, sports fans. The Dim-ocrats are going to raise your taxes, but are not going to consider it a “tax.” The bill will also put tax penalties on those who refuse to buy Obaminsurance, will tax businesses based on overall payrolls (any company with more than 6 employees will probably hit the magic number), force employers to give insurance benefits to PART-TIME EMPLOYEES, and add an income tax surcharge to those making over $350,000.00 per year. The Washington Times editorial linked in this paragraph does a good job of highlighting some of the language used in writing this piece of trash, which goes a LONG way to explaining why the bill is going to end up with over 1,200 pages. If a non-lawyer was to write up the same bill in actual English, it would probably be about 100 pages long, which is still 80 more pages than any bill (excepting budgets and appropriations) should EVER BE.

The Messiah had his own town hall event in New Hampshire, and found that there were no voices of opposition in sight. Well, that’s because he came in the back way, avoiding all of the protesters lining the streets in front of the school that he spoke at. Townhall blogger “Jim” provides us with a local ABC affiliate’s report showing that the real “astro-turf” protesters were those brought in by the SEIU in 7 busses, with professionally made signs displaying the logos of the well-funded Obama campaign organizations. Even the people who were chosen to ask questions were “astro-turf” questioners, including the 11 year old girl who read her question off of a note card. Her mother happens to be a big Obama donor, was the coordinator for Massachusetts Women for Obama, and her law firm also donated huge sums to bring about hopeandchange. Of course, the Obama handlers have a rich history of pre-selecting people to ask pre-screened questions, while attempting to call it “random” and “genuine.” He has even gone so far as to say, “I don’t want people saying I just have a bunch of plants in here.” In the real world, we have a term for these blown attempts to cover us with bovine excrement…BUSTED!

Speaking of plants…the media gave a LOT of attention to a black man carrying a five foot tall Obama poster showing a Hitler moustache on His Majesty outside of a town hall meeting for John Dingell in Meeeechigan. What they conveniently left out of their reports has been caught and posted by theblogprof. The man was actually a Dingell supporter using a sign that he got from the supporters of complete nutjob Lyndon LaRouche (he’s still around???), who claim credit for it! (Look down to the section titled “The People Have Spoken”) Yes, a couple of days after Queen of the House Red Nanny P-Lousy said that the protesters were un-American and were carrying swastikas, the union goons were out in force with their Hitler references while pretending to be with the anti-Obamacare protesters.

Where was all of the media criticism when posters and even parade floats showing George W. Bush as Hitler were seen all over the place? CNN even called the Bushitler masks “look-a-likes.” Folks, when did W ever try to nationalize industries, nationalize banks, and socialize health care?

Houston area Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee is one of the biggest embarrassments ever to the Congress of the United States. The only reason she has a job is because she is such an expert at playing the race card and getting welfare payments increased for the majority of her core voters. This is a Congresscritter who, whenever she is going to be in her district, has her staff go through the obituaries so she can crash funerals to show she “cares” and to give stump speeches to the bereaved. She even flew to El Lay to speak at the Moonwalking Pedophile’s memorial service, on the taxpayers’ dime of course even though her district is 1000 miles away. She recently held a town hall meeting to discuss Obamacare, and while she was getting questioned by the assembled voters, decided to have a conversation on her cell phone (probably calling the local SEIU union thug dispatch unit wondering why there were people from the other side in her town hall). It was captured on video and in photographs. CNN’s Rick Sanchez, who is decidedly NOT a conservative, tried to question her on it during an interview. She repeatedly dodged the question, then said the video was doctored, then said she had not seen the video and couldn’t comment on it. Sheila Jackson-Lee…EPIC FAIL!

It gets better. E-mailer Alan, of AmericanInfidels, sent me an article that exposes not only the looooonacy of Sheila Jackson-Lee, but also the absolute fraud associated with the Dim-ocrats in the health care debate. This time, the plant is on stage with her and lying to the public! Roxana Mayer, a state delegate for Obama, was on stage with Sheila claiming to be a doctor in general practice for four years. She is NOT a doctor. If I were to say right now what I think of Jackson-Lee and the liberals, every other word would have to be censured. It would almost make R. Lee Ermey blush.

Senate Majority Leader Dingy Harry “Land Deal” Reid even went so far as to call the folks protesting against Obamacare “evil-mongers.” I kinda like that title. Maybe we could make t-shirts. We’d need to make them in yellow, since that is the color opposite of SEIU purple. If any of you out there, especially Bobbie’s Band of Bloggers, are artfully inclined, come up with a logo and send it!

While the Administration and the Fed are proclaiming that the recession is over, reality has a way of quoting ESPN’s Lee Corso, “NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!” In July, American retail sales DIPPED and new jobless claims ROSE. If that’s not enough to prove them to be LIARS, then how about showing the number of home foreclosures rising by 7% from June to July? Care to claim victory again, Massah?

This story is just too rich to pass up. A Democrat Congresscritter from the 29th District of Texas (66% Hispanic, voted 94% for the current Democrat Rep), Eugene Green, has repeatedly voted against requiring proper photo ID to VOTE, but is now calling for proper photo ID to be presented if anyone wants to attend his TOWN HALL MEETINGS! Uh, Gene? Which one is more important, the meetings or national votes?

Quite a few readers of The Claw, including Poll Katz e-mailer “Ginny” and Townhall blogger “Saltwater”, sent me links to the latest Salon.com column by dedicated Obalover Camille Paglia. If you can get through the first paragraph without puking up your lunch, you’ll find a column in which she rips the Administration a new one, calls for Queen of the House Red Nanny P-Lousy to resign from the Speakership, gives credit to Sarah Palin, and calls out The Messiah on his Obamacare claims that it won’t be rationed care nor will it impact those who like their current insurance. The Crawfish has to give her credit for being correct and coming up with a brilliant term when she tried to slam George W. Bush. She echoed the feelings of most conservatives when she called him “ideologically incoherent.”

President Obama’s Science Czar, John Holdren, has been under fire lately because of his radical beliefs and writings. The Administration keeps trying to portray him as someone in the mainstream of public thought and that his writings from the 70s have absolutely no relevance today. They need to say that, when his writings from the 70s call for de-development of the US and equitable redistribution of the wealth. Even though that’s their plan, it must not be publicly admitted.

It looks like UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon is taking a page from the Obama playbook by declaring that his agenda items must be passed by the entire world’s governing bodies immediately or catastrophe will result. “We have just four months. Four months to secure the future of our planet.” He even used the Prophet Algoracle’s terminology when he stated, “The science is clear. We know what to do and we know how to do it.” Yes, Your Majesty, the science IS clear. Global climate change is dictated by THE SUN, the earth has been cooling for a few years, and you are nothing but a fraudulent greenie alarmist.

The Crawfish finds it distasteful when decisions on national security issues come down to partisan politics and whizzing contests between states, but that is what the decision on where to base the Navy’s newest aircraft carrier is coming down to. The Crawfish sees this as a very simple decision. It is unwise to keep 100% of the Atlantic Fleet’s carrier battle groups at a single base, where they can become targets for a single weapon or single attack (Pearl Harbor, anyone?). That is why the Navy has kept a carrier battle group based in Mayport for all these years. The facilities upgrade should have already been underway in anticipation of the planned decommissioning of the USS John F Kennedy, which was supposed to happen a couple of years down the road, but was pushed up because of the multitude of mechanical breakdowns on that ship that were too expensive to fix. The Pacific Fleet has three carrier bases; San Diego, Pearl Harbor, and Everett, WA, plus the forward deployed carrier based in Yokosuka, Japan. Why should the Atlantic Fleet have only one?

The media has been all over the anti-Obamacare protests, and have for the most part been highly critical of the protesters, but back in 2002 there were much more violent protests against Bush, including assaults, vandalization of public property, and even someone pounding his fist against the Presidential limo. Where was THAT coverage?

Governor Rick Perry of the Great State of Texas recently picked up an award that Barack Obama and 95% of the Dim-ocrats will never even be considered for, the Defender of Jerusalem Award, given to public figures who demonstrate support and commitment to the state of Israel and their capitol of Jerusalem. The Obamites are holding out for the Suleman’s Attackers of Jerusalem Award.

Liberal talk show host Ed Schultz, who once wished for Dick Cheney’s death, is off his rocker. He’s now saying that conservatives want to see President Obama “get shot.” No, Ed, conservatives wish nothing of the sort. We would never wish that upon our POLITICAL enemies. We only want him to fail with his fascist-socialist policies so that we can make the hard 180 degree turn and go back towards a Constitutional government. Besides, if Obama were to get shot, that would make him an iconic martyr for the extreme left, and his policies would be implemented lock, stock, and barrel because of a sympathetic public.

I cannot believe that this case was a) not quashed by the Affirmative Action Attorney General, and b) was reported by CNN.
