Neal Boortz linked to the AllMilitary candidate calculator, which is how I just found AllMilitary.  Fred Thompson was my most closely matched candidate (94.37%), and the candidate I was already supporting.  Must be something to the calculator....

I am a veteran, but that was 40 years ago, and I don't think I qualify as "military" even if I grew up in it.  I took the calulator, and I came up with the Dem. from Alaska.  Mr. Thompson was real near the bottom of my list.  I also looked at the over all results lately.  All the republicans are near the bottom.  So I guess I'm not alone thinking the way I do.  My dad worked with Marshall during and after the war (rebuilding Europe).  He was a democrat, believed we did the right things and had the closest to Christian intentions when we wacked the Germans and the Japanese, and then offered them a hand getting back up.  He wasn't a Commie, but he thought unions helped the working population share the benefits.  He thought things could be better for most of us, and put a lot of energy into making it be that way.  I guess I am just a yellow dog democrat from birth.  Hope you right guys don't decide to kill us all, and let God sort it out.

Took the quiz...

Plan to vote for Fred Thompson.

Results:

1. Duncan Hunter 96.67 (not gonna get the nomination)
1. Mitt Romney 96.67 (can live with him, just seems he might be a conservative-come-lately)
3. Tom Tancredo 93.3 (not gonna get the nomination)
4. Fred Thompson 90.00 (Still pretty strong. Trust him, think he's a true conservative.)

Wish it would break down the scoring on each, though.  I could probably take it at again in a week and get a slightly different answer.

Not suprisingly, Dennis Kucinich rated the lowest at 10.00. Rudy and John McCain each around 70%.

Excellent calculator! It nailed my choice and discounted those I hold in contempt as well. Best part is that I found this site and joined up today! So far so good. Love the dialogue from all sides...

Wow, I got Joe Biden as my calculator pick. I think it's funny, because that was my pick anyways. Usually when I do these types of things, they are the complete opposite of who/what I pick

BIDEN 08!!!, HOOAH!

The calculator was used on the Mike Beck show this morning. Heard it in Atlanta. He had Mr. Huckaby on and he was good enough to take the quiz. Turned out,I believe, that he should be voting for Romney!!!!!!!!!!! Now that's funny.

I also heard the Glenn Beck program where Gov. Huckaby was conned into taking the test.  What I want to know is how is it he only agreed with 71% of his own views.  It tells me that there is a serious flaw in your representations of what the candidates believe.  I don't accept the other alternative that Huckaby is lying.  Could it be that your program misdirects the voters?

I think the only problem wiht the calculator is that it could lead a voter astray, and encourage him or her to support a candidate who is un-electable.

Voting for someone who cannot win will only dilute the vote of a candidate you would prefer as opposed to someone totally opposed to your views.

I tried the calculator (in fact, it's how I found this site as well) and came up with Mitt Romney as first choice and Fred Thompson as second.  In related news, Hillary came in on the bottom third of the calculator for me...which leads me to the following:

I kind of like looking at the candidates this way.  Wouldn't it be interesting if we never saw the candidates, but just knew what they stood for and what there plans were?  I wonder how different our political process would be if we took the personality out of it, and just stuck with the issues.  I know it wouldn't be near as much fun, but would we be surprised by who got into office and who didn't?

Make sure that you put in whether you are strong, medium or low.  if you don't you might end up a fricking democrat.

I am undecided who to vote for but I know it will not be her.

I followed the link from the Glenn Beck and tried the calculator.  I said Fred was my man, which i disagree with.  I have know idea what fred thompson stands for.  Anyways, it think it acts as a good tool to help a person make a fairly informed choice, and a good guide.

actually...  I came up agreeing w/ Duncan Hunter w/ 84%.  AND, I'm a Registered by-God Democrat.

However, I remember "a rising tide lifts ALL boats" (that was in reference to JFK tax cuts, which Pres. Reagan copied, and then again with Pres. Bush), "...bear ANY burden, pay ANY price..." (referring to the cost in blood and $$$ to maintain the security of our nation ANYwhere in the world), and (of course) "ask NOT what your country can do for you, but instead ask what YOU can do for your country".  These are, of course, foreign concepts to the current pack of political prostitutes in Wash DC.  They don't take care of OUR business anymore, but instead GIVE US the business.  They're hustling us for the tax $$$ to do what their pimp BIG $$$ contributors want.  But, ...don't get me started.

*** What I have in mind...:  IF Fred doesn't swear on a stack of Bibles that he's gonna walk into the Oval Office, and call the Orkin man to help him clean out the rats and roaches in Wash., I just might have to start a new party.  Ladies and gentlemen, it goes like this:  last fall, about 20%+ voted for the donkeys, and a little less than 20% voted for the elephants.  From where I sit, that means that about 60%+/- voted for "None of the Above".

**That should be the name of our new party.  Theme song:  "Hold Your Head UP" by Argent, from about 1972 or 1973.  (aren't you tired of hanging your head in shame every time ANOTHER story comes out about another sleazy pervo in Congress getting caught?  ...isn't it time we got together?)

*Just let the Mainstream Media (or Drive-by Media) TRY to ignore a 60% turnout in any stinking election result story.

+#1 step for the Future of Our Country:  stop sending lawyers to Congress.  If you got a choice between Herb Tarleck and a lawyer, send the WKRP boy to sit in the chair in DC.  (or a used car salesman, or farmer, or a turnpike toll collector, or carpenter).  Actually, I would prefer the carpenter.  If I'm the President, I'll need the help building the gallows sturdy enough to hold a dozen lawyers at 1 time.  It'll take too long to thin out the AntiChristianLawyersUnion doing it 1 at a time.  And I'm not wasting bullets on a herd of lawyers.  Rope is reusable.  Environmentally responsible.

+#2 step for the Future of Our Country:  take every quote from Armageddon Need-A-Job about us.  Follow them with each member of the House and Senate that they originated from.  The resulting video should be directly admissible in court.  Treason.  They provide the Enemy with each international relations bullet point to attack us with; that directly falls within the specific definition of "aiding and abetting the enemy".  Since we're currently at war, that's firing squad time.  Lawyer said it?  Hang 'em high.

Time factor?  Well, should take about 1 hr 37 min, each case.  Trial. Sentence. Appeal. Sentence upheld.  After we get into the "swing" of things, that might increase in efficiency enough that the time wasted could get cut down enough to get the job done in 1 hr.

I loved the poll!  I've never voted Republican in my life, but don't like any of the Democratic choices.  I've been leaning toward Huckabee or Romney, and the poll confirmed what I have been thinking.

My match turned out to be Fred Thompson who I have thought of voting for.  I need to see more of him and do more research on him but he seems conservative so far.  I have also had an interest in Huckabee.  At the bottom of the barrel was little Dennis the menace and the Breck Girl, big surprise on both!!

I took the poll today and got Tom Tancrado, I know that he is a good man and a very patriotic American but I do not think he will make the cut off.  I Like Fred Thomson and plan to vote for him in the primary.  Needless to say though I will put my vote for the winner in the Republican race who gets the nomination.  All good Americans need to rise up to keep Socialist values out of our country and that is what I feel Senator Billery would bring to the White House.  I was one of the effected with the Bill Clinton drawdowns and had to get back into the Regular Army threw the back door (National Gaurd) and that caused me to lose Rank and seats in service schools.  She would do the same if not worse to our military and I feel that she also despises the Armed Forces and would do everything in her power to destroy it agian. Now is not the time for a drawdown or the erosion of the 2nd Ammendment.  Things that no matter what she says, she will implament. She is also the forgone conclusion for the Dem. nomination they do things differant in that camp you know. mwest1971usn I am with you, lets just do it.  Except they are not all Traitors just a vast amount of them are.

Very interesting.  It would be great if you guys could go one step further. After someone completes the quiz and get their results, make a link to an overall matrix that has the same issues listed on the right and each candidate listed across the top.  Then you could fill in the matrix with where each candidate stands on the specific issues.  (e.g "For", "Against", "Undecided"). This would provide a useful compairison.

My firm choice was one off from the quiz. It said Huckabee, but I will be voting for Mitt Rommney (who was second on the quiz list for me).
