Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges
for the Coast Guard

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges for the Coast Guard (SOCCOAST) is a worldwide network of colleges and universities that are either on or accessible to Coast Guard installations. Courses taken by active duty Coast Guard servicemembers and their adult family members at any of these educational institutions apply toward an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Highlights

SOCCOAST offers aid and flexibilty in reaching your educational goals. Here are some highlights:

  • If You Are Transfered

If you are transferred to another installation, or to several installations, you or your adult family members can continue to work toward college degrees, and the courses you complete at any SOCCOAST educational institution count toward the degrees.

  • Distance Learning

SOCCOAST has many distance-learning degree programs.

  • Tuition Aid

The Coast Guard may foot the bill for a good portion of classes you and your family members take while you are on active duty. The Coast Guard Education Services Office at your installation has details.
