Coast Guard Tuition Assistance (TA) helps servicemembers complete their education by offering them up to $4,500 annually for classes taken from nationally or regionally accredited institutions. If you are elegible, AllMilitary.com can help you find schools where you can use Tuition Assistance.
Highlights
- Tuition Assistance covers:
- Developmental courses in math, English and reading.
- 100% of tuition and fees for most vocational programs

Drawbacks
- The Coast Guard will only pay up to a certain amount for each credit hour and only up to a certain amount each year:
- $250 each semester credit hour
Or - $166 each quarter credit hour
And - The total amount is capped at $4,500 each fiscal year.

- Student activity fees, parking fees or student IDs
- Textbooks
- Preassembled items available to the general public, such as computers and televisions
- Fees for flight time, flying lessons or noncredit aviation classes
