Survivors and dependents of certain veterans and servicemembers are eligible for more than $37,000 in educational benefits through Survivors & Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA). Dependents of veterans who passed away as a result of a service-connected disability are eligible, as are dependents of veterans who are 100% disabled and dependents of servicemembers who are missing in action or captured by a hostile force.
