Vice-Admiral E.P. Travers Scholarship and Loan Program
$2,000 to $3,000—The Admiral can offer your spouse and dependent children that much as a loan or grant for their vocational or college education each year. Every year the Travers Program awards 1,000 grants. The minimum loan amount awarded is $500, and the minimum monthly payment will be $50.

Drawbacks
- Loan repayment begins 30 days after you receive the loan.
- Loans must be repaid within two years.
Apply
Beginning on Nov. 1 of every year, you can contact the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society for an application. Applications must be received by March 1 of the following year. Applications received after March 1 will not be eligible for grants, but they may be eligible for loans. The Travers Program is only open to spouses of active duty marines, not veterans.
