Description :

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing enhancements to an existing flight data visualization and analysis suite of products in use by military aviation customers.  The candidate will be responsible for requirements gathering, design, development, debugging/testing and customer-facing support of specialized customer-focused solutions built on an existing application architecture.  The candidate will also be responsible for providing defect reports to the core product development team, as well as providing feedback related to new core product enhancements needed to support end-users.

Under direction, develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software. Possess a good understanding of business applications. Work with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems, resolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements. May be involved in the development of software user manuals and demonstrate software.

Qualifications :

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, or related engineering discipline or equivalent and two to four years experience with 2+ years relevant experience developing software or 7 years of relevant software development experience without a degree
Possess a demonstrated ability to design, develop, troubleshoot, document, and test software written in C#/.NET
Experience using the Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2005, 2008 and/or 2010
Proficient in object-oriented analysis, design and development
Experience developing database applications based on Microsoft SQL Server (C#/ADO.NET and writing, debugging T/SQL Stored Procedures)
Working knowledge of Agile software development processes and procedures
Familiar with Test Driven Development as a development and/or prototyping methodology.
Proficient with at least one general-purpose scripting language such as Perl, Python, Ruby, AutoIt, VBScript, etc.
Experience developing Windows Forms applications using .NET Framework 3.5 and later.
Strong enthusiasm and interest in solving interesting problems related to processing large volumes of data, 3D graphical user interfaces, and numerical analysis of vehicle telemetry data
Must have very strong interest and/or experience in military fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation and be knowledgeable of basic mechanics of flight and aircraft systems.

Analytical Skills:
Able to assist in evaluating/determining user needs, able to discuss needs and requirements directly with customers
Understanding of software life cycle process
Provides input for documentation of new or existing applications
Some familiarity with numerical processing and statistical methods

Helpful/preferred experience:
Experience designing relational database systems, data warehouses, OLAP
Experience performance-tuning relational database systems.
Able to understand and solve basic calculus and linear algebra problems, namely statistical analysis and 3D vector math.

Security:
Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation; if so, must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information - must currently hold, or be able to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
