Description :

The Vice President of Category Management is responsible for leadership of the Category Management/Merchandising team.  The V.P. will oversee activities, communicate, and provide direction, leadership, and training in support of company initiatives.

Provide direction/alignment with Branch/Company goals.
Provide strategic direction/leadership for Category Management team
Oversee/negotiate local programs with vendor community
Manage category management initiatives that support the goals of the Branch & Company
Monitor/Manage vendor category monthly reviews
Align vendor programs with initiatives
Oversee the development of Category plans/strategies (FSA & National brands)
FSA brands, category plans, EMI, sales penetration/growth support, margin & profit planning
Business planning/budgeting
Coordinate Category Management to support Sales goals
Create, design, implement promotional programs
Monitor, manage, and maximize inventory
Ability to develop/align vendor/broker relationships with objectives
Category Management Planning
Inventory and inbound Logistic Management

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree (Business emphasis)
5 + years in purchasing, management, merchandising, category management, sales, supervision
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Leadership skills, proven track record, integrity, competitive, team player, goal oriented, creative, ability to work with people (inter- department & cross functional)
Lead, coach, inspire, motivate, and monitor Associates progress in relationship to personal/professional goals
Capable of identifying quantifiable objectives, develop plans, motivate Associates, provide positive results
Positive, professional, "big picture" person, value of Associates
Ability to "future" think, "ahead of curve", innovative, creative
Ability to work with Senior staff
Independent with "TEAM" concept
Ability to travel 25%
Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
