We are currently seeking talented Sr DB2/LUW DBA (DPF)  for our San Antonio, TX  facility. PURPOSE OF JOB 

Guides and facilitates teams in the delivery of technical solutions. Independently performs complex work assignments and problem resolution across systems, processes, and channels. Participates in the analysis, design, modeling, development, implementation and maintenance of databases on a variety of information technology platforms.

JOB DUTIES 
Manages multiple initiatives of significant scope and complexity. Provides insight and guides management on projectrelated issues.
Ensures business continuity by developing and implementing highly available database systems and database recovery plans and procedures. Liaises with database software vendors and external technical support on issues.
Drives continuous database improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, availability, and productivity.
Acquires and applies advanced knowledge of database design and management including modeling, creation and maintenance of the most difficult and critical databases and database objects to serve as a resource to team members on escalated issues of an unusual nature.
Applies extensive knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with database tools and utilities and at least one DBMS platform, as well as expert SQL and database performance tuning skills.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree or 6 years of I/T experience.
6+ years experience with database administration, operations with DB2/LUW Database and design and implementation experience with DPF databases.
Intermediate knowledge of DB2 for Linux, Unix, & Windows platforms.

Preferred
5+ years experience with database and server performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning with DB2 and a big data environment (multi- terabyte).
Experience with DB2/LUW Performance Expert and DB2 Workload Manager and backup and recovery.
3+ years experience providing consulting support and architectural guidance in a large DB2/LUW environment, including experience with database replication, SAN Storage, monitoring and problem resolution.
Knowledge of database access plans (Standard & DPF), identifying improvements areas in SQL's, and query rewrites for performance.
Experience with Quest Central, Spotlight, Toad.
Experience installing and configuring DB2 Version 9 for Linux/Unix/Windows.
Experience supporting IBM Balanced Warehouse systems.
Experience with various ETL tools such as DataStage and Informatica.
