Responsibilities will include working closely with customers to develop custom scientific software for data processing and analysis. Experience with web application development and SQL development highly desired. The primary operating system environment will be Linux, with IBM and Cray supercomputer experience desired. Languages required are primarily C++ and Java, with procedural languages such as C and Fortran helpful. Independent problem solving experience is required. The demonstrated ability to work as a member of a small team is desired. Familiarity with the physical sciences is highly desired.

Designs, codes, tests, develops, and documents application programs and procedures for computer-based business systems. Works with users to define system scope and objectives. Develops block diagrams of program logic from program specifications. Tests resulting instructions and identifies erroneous coding and inadequate or incorrect block diagramming. Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures. Assists users in the operation of the application.
