Description :

The Project Lead is primarily responsible for supervising/managing contractor supported role player operations at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, California.

Personnel will support a variety of role player tasks including generic role players, foreign language speaking role players, insurgents, casualty role players, and pyrotechnics.  The Project Lead will ensure all subordinates meet security requirements and clearances to support the NTC customer.  The Project lead will ensure all personnel conduct will be IAW 5 CFR Parts 2600-2641 and DOD-5500 7-R (Joint Ethics Regulations).

Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills are required. Position requires close customer contact and the ability to work independently and creatively. Successful candidate must exhibit ability to effectively communicate with clients, and colleagues, and senior managers. Must be proactive in identifying and solving problems. Must be capable of completing required tasks with minimal supervision. The NTC is located at Fort Irwin, CA, in the Mojave Desert, approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow, CA. NTC mission: To provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.

Qualifications :

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Selected candidates must be able to work independently with minimum guidance. Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise others and interface with client representatives on a regular basis. Candidate must be able to handle the stress of a fast-paced, technical work environment. Sound judgment and problem solving skills are also important. Occasionally required to lift over 50lbs, must be able to obtain a valid California Driver License, and maintain Post driving privileges. Obtain Military licenses & Night Vision certification if required. Travel off road in company vehicles and military tactical vehicles if required. Applicant must be proficient with Windows operating systems as well as current and past Microsoft Office Suites. Applicants will occasionally be required to work outdoors in a desert environment.

Applicants must be willing to work any shift to include weekends, overtime and holidays. Applicant must be able to travel TDY to destinations in both CONUS and OCONUS.  Associates degree in appropriate discipline desired and at least 2 years management experience of similar operation.  Bachelor's degree and 10 years of military experience preferred.  Graduation from professional military education course commensurate with rank attained is required.  Must have NTC mission and operation experience. Must be a US citizen and be proficient in the English language with good communication skills. Must be eligible for a CAC and maintain CAC privileges. Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience. Salary will be based on education, experience and qualifications.
